This is a special opportunity to see several shows by some of Carolina's
leading puppeteers and build a puppet or two of your own in our family-friendly make-and-take area. Throughout the day there will be puppet building for young children, puppet themed games, and puppet manipulation for all ages.

10:30 ~ LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD
by Camelot Puppets
This classic tale has a new twist when Red from “The Hood” in New Jersey fights off the wolf with her martial arts.
Camelot Puppets is produced by puppeteers Pamela and Sofia Gabler. Pam is a teacher with many years of experience with Elementary and Middle School students and was the puppet director at her church for several years.

Have you ever been scared of something unfamiliar? Join us for this little-known Dr. Seuss story about a spooky pair of pale green pants with nobody inside them.
Since 2005 The Nut House Theater has produced short plays, puppet shows, giant puppet shows, short films, and spontaneous "flashmob" musicals. With an eclectic mix of puppetry styles, charming characters, and hilarious surprises, The Nut House Theater guarantees a whimsical romp.

An Adventure in Folklore

Rowby, a friendly green alien presents stories from France, India, a Celtic "Jack and the Beanstalk" and a rappin’ “The Three Little Pigs”.
Red Herring Puppets perform at schools, theatres, libraries and special events delighting young audiences with lively and informative productions. Lisa Sturz, Artistic Director, has worked with Henson Productions, Disney Imagineering, Lucasfilm, PBS, Ice Capades, UNC-TV, the Jacob School of Music, the Field Museum, the Shedd Aquarium, the Asheville Symphony and The Lyric Opera of Chicago.
3:00 ~ WORLD TALES
by Hobey Ford’s Golden Rod Puppets
Hobey uses rod and bunraku style puppets to perform the West African Anansi legend, “A Story, A Story”, “The Ant and the Grasshopper” from “Aesop’s Fables”, and the Cherokee story “ Little Grandmother Spider Woman”.
Winner of puppetry's highest honor, the UNIMA Citation of Excellence, and recipient of three Henson Foundation Grants, Hobey Ford is known for his brilliance in puppetry performance and craft.
